Entrepreneurship Isn’t Easy: Who’s the Next Big Entrepreneur?
Did you know LOUDER recently teamed up with the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) to produce a thrilling four-episode entrepreneurial competition called LOUDER Entrepreneurship? The first episode aired on VIU TV on November 5. Though each episode is just 30 minutes, it’s packed with excitement, serving as both an entrepreneurial documentary and a high-stakes contest! Out of numerous participants, only four advanced, earning mentorship from four seasoned entrepreneurs (JARDIN DES FONTAINES, Someday Stationery, Wulichacha, and ShibaVanGogh) and the chance to transform their ideas into market-ready products. Today, we’re spotlighting the works of these four finalists, inviting everyone to rally behind young talent and local entrepreneurs.
1. JARDIN DES FONTAINES | Couple’s Phone Cases
JARDIN DES FONTAINES is an original designed brand in Hong Kong and scarves brand which represents heritage and innovation. The brand links tradition and the present, oriental and occidental, human and nature. We believe that "art enlivens life, life enriches art". Their phone case collection, designed by students Toby and Nat, draws inspiration from iconic French landmarks. The design tells a three-part love story of Trixie and Crispian, capturing their meeting, bonding, and confession of love in France. The three designs feature key locations from their story: Dune of Pilat, Arcachon Bay, and the Alps. Toby and Nat aim for users to feel the beauty of nature and the power of love, evoking calm and joy.
2. ShibaVanGogh | Tote Bag and T-Shirt
ShibaVanGogh’s founder adopted a dog with partial hearing loss from a Hong Kong animal shelter, naming it Van Gogh. Student Hazel designed a rainbow-themed tote bag and T-shirt, blending the brand’s signature “Shiba Van Gogh” with festive Christmas elements for an irresistibly cute look. For every purchase, 5% of proceeds support PawUnited, aiding stray animals in need. These creative, practical, and meaningful products deserve your support!
3. Someday Stationery | Singleton’s Weekly Planner
Someday Stationery is dedicated to crafting unique, high-quality stationery that blends aesthetics, functionality, and quality to enhance writing and creative experiences. Student Isaac designed the “Singleton’s Weekly Planner” for single individuals, offering a space to jot down life’s moments and moods while providing uplifting quotes to inspire confidence and joy in solo living. Pair it with a set of three quirky singleton-themed stickers—perfect as Christmas gifts for single friends.
4. Wulichacha | Luggage Tag and Strap
Wulichacha channels positivity and relatability through its character Wuli and his everyday adventures with friends. Students Zixi and Kiko designed a Wuli-themed luggage tag and strap. The tag features Wuli running in various global settings, symbolizing a world-traveling spirit, with the slogan “The World is Yours to Explore” encouraging boundless exploration. The strap, both adorable and durable with adjustable features, ensures luggage security and style. Spread Wuli’s positive energy worldwide!
