JARDIN DES FONTAINES Turns Hong Kong into a Wearable City Memory Through “HONG KONG GIFTS”

Design is increasingly becoming a language of cultural memory — and for Hong Kong-based original design scarf brand JARDIN DES FONTAINES, it is also a way to carry a city home.
The brand has launched its latest thematic collection, “HONG KONG GIFTS”, which transforms Hong Kong’s cultural spirit, urban rhythm, and collective memory into curated, collectible city objects through design storytelling.
A City That Can Be Worn, Touched, and Taken Home
Founded in Hong Kong, JARDIN DES FONTAINES positions design as more than aesthetics. It is a medium for emotional connection.
The brand’s philosophy is rooted in a simple belief: gifts are not merely souvenirs, but vessels of a city’s emotions and identity.
In this context, the statement “Take Hong Kong With You” becomes more than a slogan — it is a declaration of attachment to the city.
Each piece is originally designed by Hong Kong designers, carrying narratives that extend beyond geography and travel, allowing Hong Kong stories to continue across journeys and cultures.
Cultural Purpose and Social Value
The “Hong Kong Gifts” collection is designed to deepen travel memory by allowing visitors to experience Hong Kong’s spirit, landscape, and rhythm of life through wearable art.
Beyond aesthetics, the project also supports Hong Kong’s creative economy by ensuring all designs are locally originated and embedded with authentic cultural symbols, reinforcing both originality and cultural depth.
The brand actively collaborates with official and cultural institutions, including the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), LOG-ON and MTR LOUDER, with the aim of transforming Hong Kong design into an internationally recognised cultural identity and expanding its global influence.
Three Design Narratives Inspired by Hong Kong
The collection draws inspiration from Hong Kong’s collective ethos — the Lion Rock Spirit, a symbol of resilience, unity, and perseverance.
Design elements are expressed through anthropomorphic storytelling, with characters such as pandas reimagined as athletes, cultural ambassadors, directors, and performers, bringing movement and emotional vitality into the visual language.
The design philosophy is anchored in three core values:
Unity. Perseverance. Resilience.

Over 20 Hong Kong Landmarks Reimagined as Art
The collection incorporates more than twenty iconic Hong Kong landmarks and urban elements, including:
- Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre
- Golden Bauhinia Square
- Kai Tak Sports Park
- Avenue of Stars
- Urban transport and everyday city scenes
These fragmented urban memories are reassembled into a cohesive artistic narrative.
The visual identity is defined by a dual aesthetic:
Eastern emotion × Western rationality
This fusion reflects Hong Kong’s distinctive identity as an international metropolis where cultures intersect and coexist.
Nostalgia Reimagined: Bringing Golden Memories Home
One of the designs draws inspiration from the classic board game “Ludo,” evoking collective childhood memories shared by many Hong Kong residents.
This nostalgic reference is reinterpreted through contemporary design language, transforming memory into a living cultural expression rather than a static recollection.
The collection also pays tribute to Hong Kong’s golden era, highlighting a city where nature, arts, entertainment, and creativity coexist in dynamic harmony.

A Complete Design Ecosystem
The “Hong Kong Gifts” collection extends beyond silk scarves to include:
- Original silk scarves
- Shoulder bags
- Postcards
- Art prints

All scarves are certified under the Global Recycled Standard (GRS), produced using recycled materials and aligned with ESG principles covering environmental, social, and governance responsibility.
Brand Philosophy
At the core of JARDIN DES FONTAINES lies a defining belief:
“The best travel gift is a city that is willing to be taken home.”
Through design, Hong Kong is transformed from a destination into a portable cultural narrative — a city that can be worn, carried, and remembered.
