HKTDC Marks 60th Anniversary with “Design Gallery on the Move”

Mobile Exhibition Truck Tours Hong Kong for Three Weeks Showcasing Over 60 Local Original Brands

To celebrate its 60th anniversary, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) has launched a citywide initiative under its “Hong Kong Design Gallery” brand, introducing a mobile exhibition truck that brings local creativity directly into communities across the city.

The launch ceremony was held last Friday, officiated by Professor Frederick Ma, Chairman of HKTDC, together with Ms. Sophia Chong, Executive Director. The event was also attended by founders of various local brands, marking a significant milestone for Hong Kong’s design and creative sector. The atmosphere was lively, reflecting strong industry support and enthusiasm.

The “Design Gallery on the Move” initiative aims to bring Hong Kong’s original brands closer to the public by embedding design and creativity into everyday community spaces. The project highlights the innovation and resilience of local small and medium-sized enterprises while strengthening awareness of homegrown design.

Running from June 1 to June 18, 2026, the mobile exhibition truck will travel to 16 locations across Hong Kong, showcasing more than 60 curated products from local original brands. The travelling showcase offers an immersive on-site experience, allowing visitors to explore, interact, and engage with Hong Kong design in a dynamic setting.

HKTDC stated that the initiative seeks to break the boundaries of traditional exhibition formats, bringing design directly into the community and enhancing public appreciation of Hong Kong’s creative industries, while supporting local brands in reaching wider audiences both locally and internationally.
