ELLE - To showcase the distinctive charm of Hong Kong’s designer brands to the global fashion industry, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) has launched a series of Fashion Hong Kong 2024 promotional events. The first overseas initiative, “Hong Kong Pop-up Design à Paris,” was successfully held on March 25 in Paris, France.
Organized by the HKTDC and supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels, the “Hong Kong Pop-up Design à Paris” featured a pop-up store showcasing the works of 11 emerging Hong Kong designers. Spanning fashion, jewelry, leather goods, and accessories, the event presented Hong Kong’s vibrant fashion vision to Parisian consumers and buyers, fostering cultural and commercial exchange between the two regions.
Sustainable fashion took center stage, with brands like ARTY:ACTIVE, Coat Tote, OLEADA, and SOULMATTE demonstrating their commitment to eco-conscious design through sustainable concepts, materials, and processes. Their products are not only distinctive but also carry profound social significance.
The pop-up also highlighted a range of art-infused design brands, including ditto ditto, JARDIN DES FONTAINES, and Pair Pair Full. Standout products included Victoria Harbour-patterned magnets crafted with letterpress printing, floral accessories blending urban and animal motifs, and playful printed socks inspired by Hong Kong’s everyday scenes.
Craftsmanship-focused brands such as KKLUE, La Serenidad, LOUISE CASTLE, and WHY were also a highlight, combining traditional techniques with innovative designs to create unique jewelry, bow ties, and apparel.
Fashion Hong Kong will continue to roll out initiatives this year to support local brands in expanding to mainland China and international markets, facilitating connections between designers and professional buyers to unlock new business opportunities.
