Student-Exclusive Scarf Design Guideline

1. Participation Requirements

  • Eligibility: Open to students nominated by Istituto Marangoni. Primarily for students in fashion design or related disciplines.
  • Team Structure: Students may work individually (1 design) or in teams of two (2 designs). Each participant must contribute to at least one design. Team submissions must show a unified theme and clear collaboration.

2. Content Restrictions

  • Originality: Designs must be entirely original — plagiarism or replication of existing JARDIN DES FONTAINES or other brands’ patterns is strictly prohibited.
  • Branding: The JARDIN DES FONTAINES logo must be incorporated subtly, ensuring it complements rather than dominates the design.
  • Theme Alignment: All submissions must reflect the “Urban Inspiration” theme, drawing inspiration from architecture, culture, or cityscapes.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Entries must avoid controversial, political, religious, or culturally inappropriate elements.

3. Technical Specifications

  • Design Format: Submit in digital format: AI (Adobe Illustrator), PSD, or high-resolution PDF at 300 DPI. Hand-drawn submissions must be scanned at 300 DPI minimum. Standard scarf size: 90cm × 90cm (Carré format).
  • Design Elements: For two-design submissions, both must share a unifying theme (e.g., color palette, motifs, narrative). Designs must be optimized for digital printing.
  • Concept Notes: Submit a 500-word statement per design, including urban inspiration, design process, and philosophy. Notes must be in English and submitted in PDF or Word format.

4. Schedule

  • Selection & Preparation Phase: Sept 26 – Oct 3, 2025. Istituto Marangoni nominates participants and informs JARDIN DES FONTAINES.
  • Design Phase: Oct 3 – Oct 31, 2025. Students create designs and prepare concept notes.
  • Submission Period: Nov 1 – Nov 15, 2025. Upload designs and notes via Google Drive.
  • Judging Period: Nov 16 – Nov 30, 2025. Joint panel evaluates submissions.
  • Announcement of Results: Dec 1, 2025. Winners and shortlisted entries announced by email and on www.jardindesfontaines.com.
  • Design Distribution: Dec 2 – Dec 19, 2025. Selected designs may be featured on JARDIN DES FONTAINES’ website and social media.

5. Evaluation Criteria

  • Creativity & Innovation (25 ponits): Fresh and original interpretation of Urban Inspiration. Unique, memorable, and visually impactful.
  • Storytelling & Design Philosophy (20 ponits): Clear narrative in patterns, motifs, or themes. Strong concept note with thoughtful connection to city inspiration. Alignment with JARDIN DES FONTAINES’ storytelling values.
  • Market Appeal & Versatility (20 ponits): Broad audience appeal across age and occasion. Adaptable to diverse styling preferences. Commercial viability and fashion relevance.
  • Technical Execution (20 ponits): Scalability, clarity, and suitability for printing. Cohesive and appropriate color usage. Full compliance with resolution and format requirements.
  • Theme & Brand Alignment (10 ponits): Integration of JARDIN DES FONTAINES logo. Balance between creative freedom and brand identity.
  • Presentation Quality (5 ponits): Professional, polished concept notes and visuals. Full adherence to submission guidelines.

6. Brand Incentives

  • Best Design Award: Certificate of Achievement, gift from JARDIN DES FONTAINES, potential for mass production and brand collaboration with full credit to designer.
  • Excellence Award: Certificate of Recognition and gift from JARDIN DES FONTAINES.
  • Production Opportunity: Winning design may be refined and produced using GRS-certified, eco-friendly processes. Final production decisions remain at JARDIN DES FONTAINES’ discretion.

7. Brand Rights

  • JARDIN DES FONTAINES reserves the right to modify, adapt, or alter any selected design to ensure consistency with commercial objectives and brand identity.
  • The brand retains full and exclusive copyright ownership of all selected designs, including production, reproduction, distribution, display, and promotional use.
